About The Position

Join Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital, a Magnet Hospital recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center for professional nursing practice. The hospital provides surgical services in cardiothoracic, vascular, urology, colorectal, orthopedics, general, bariatric, breast, and cancer-related specialties, as well as minimally invasive procedures including single-port and robotic surgery. In this role, you will care for patients before, during, and after surgical or invasive procedures, helping ensure they are prepared and comfortable. The position works days, evenings, nights, and weekends, with schedules of 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (AND or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; if not held at hire, it must be obtained within six months of hire.
• One year of RN experience or completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency Program.
• Ability to handle and lift patients, and to stand and walk for extensive periods.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds and periodically push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing more than 75 pounds.
• Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Perioperative experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub and circulating functions.
• Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, and equipment for use.
• Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
