About The Position

Haverhill Pavilion Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking PRN - Weekends Only RN Supervisors for its adult and geriatric inpatient programs. As a leading New England behavioral health facility, Haverhill Pavilion provides comprehensive mental health services, including a specialized geriatric unit. The RN Supervisor will be part of an outstanding nursing team, contributing to patient-focused, interdisciplinary behavioral healthcare.

Requirements

Current registered nursing license in State of facility required
1 year of experience as an RN in any setting required
CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility)
First aid may be required based on state or facility.

Nice To Haves

BSN from accredited school of nursing preferred.
Greater than 1 year of experience as an RN strongly preferred.
1 year in psychiatric/recovery programs preferred.
Some experience as a charge RN or other leadership position strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsible for day-to-day oversight of nursing operations and ensuring adequate staffing for patient care.
Oversees the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services with a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments, and administration to meet residents' needs.
Provides leadership to ensure compliance with regulations and nursing practice standards.
Anticipates and manages changes in census and acuity, allocating nursing resources accordingly.
Enforces and interprets policies for patient and resident care delivery.
Ensures proper staffing for each unit, considering staff ratios, patient care needs, and covering call-offs/vacations.
Ensures chart checks, seclusion/restraint logs, nursing assessments, MARs, and report sheets are accurate and up-to-date.
Completes rounds at the beginning of the shift and performs random audits.
Assists nursing leaders in orienting and ensuring staff competency, including coaching.
Provides mentoring and training as needed.
Assists the nursing leadership team in ensuring facility compliance with professional, regulatory, and governmental standards.
Monitors and evaluates patient care processes and outcomes to ensure effective, competent, compassionate, and safe care.
Coordinates patient care, including physician orders and diagnostic information, and ensures consultations are ordered.
Documents medical, behavioral health information, and nursing care.
Administers medications and maintains records according to company policies.
Assists in developing and updating patient care plans with specific goals and interventions.
Prioritizes tasks and delegates staff to ensure quality patient care.
Serves as the leader on shift for admissions and discharges, informing physicians of patient condition changes.
Adjusts staffing accordingly.
Utilizes administrator-on-call for situations requiring additional attention.
Provides direct care as needed.
Performs other assigned functions and tasks.
