This position supports the manager in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, nursing service administration, and delivery of care within the department. The RN Supervisor assists with interviewing, selecting, and supervising nursing personnel, and coordinates communication throughout shifts via staff meetings and huddles. They collaborate with the manager to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, healthcare regulations, and policies. The role involves rounding on patients, teammates, and physicians to assess satisfaction and the appropriateness of care, and delegating tasks to appropriate healthcare workers. The supervisor identifies expected outcomes for continuity of care and department operations, evaluates progress towards goals, and performs nursing care, assists with treatments, and administers medications. Additionally, they coordinate patient flow and throughput, and manage staffing by assessing volume/acuity needs and utilizing available resources.
