About The Position

The Registered Nurse Supervisor in Psychiatric care oversees nursing staff and ensures the delivery of high-quality consumer care within a behavioral health facility. This role involves managing clinical operations, supporting staff development, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a behavioral health setting.
  • Minimum of One (1) year in a supervisory position required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Proficient in clinical assessment and decision-making skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health protocols and regulations, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Competency in using healthcare information systems and electronic medical records.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
  • Additional education and experience may be substituted at the discretion of the Clinical Director of Nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the nursing team during the third shift, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and procedures.
  • Monitor patient care activities, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and effective communication among healthcare providers.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for nursing staff.
  • Address any staffing issues, including scheduling and performance management, to maintain optimal staff levels and performance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide leadership in crisis situations, ensuring appropriate interventions and support.
  • Collaborate with management to implement quality improvement initiatives and enhance patient care services.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors by enforcing health and safety regulations.
