About The Position

Westminster Winter Park is seeking a Registered Nurse Supervisor to work in the Health Center. This role involves providing direct nursing care to residents and supervising daily nursing activities performed by nursing assistants and staff nurses. The supervision is crucial to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times, as directed by the Director of Nursing. The position reports to the Director of Nursing.

Requirements

  • Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse.
  • Must be CPR Certified.
  • A minimum of one year as a supervisor is required.
  • Ability to provide safe, compassionate, and quality nursing care to patients.
  • Ability to administer medications and treatments accurately and in accordance with physician orders.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language and understand and follow written and oral directions.
  • Ability to learn computer programs as defined by Westminster Communities of Florida.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of long term care experience is desirable.
  • Med-surg., Home Health, Emergency Room experience is helpful.
  • Experience working with developmentally disabled adults.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all floor nurses and staff members to ensure care is provided based on established standards.
  • Provide conflict resolution for issues between staff members.
  • Replace nurses who call off or are no-call/no-show.
  • Assist the ADON/DON with calculating daily staffing needs based on census requirements.
  • Review doctor’s orders for new and current residents and ensure care is provided based on current orders.
  • Oversee and assist nurses performing resident assessments.
  • Coordinate care through communication with resident’s family members, physicians, and other health care providers.
  • Manage family concerns regarding resident’s care.
  • Update ADON/DON on important situations related to residents or the Health Center.
  • Enter admission orders in ECS for new residents to the Health Center.
  • Assist nurses with managing emergencies in the Health Center or independent living.
  • Request supplies for the unit from the Central Supply.
