This position is at the Robbinsdale Specialty Care Community, a 96-bed senior skilled nursing facility specializing in long-term and post-acute care services. The role involves supervising nursing staff and activities, including resident care and record-keeping, assisting in managing nursing staff for a particular shift, and taking action regarding resource provision within a shift or designated timeframe. The supervisor will assign residents to nursing staff based on resident condition and employee skill level. The role also includes monitoring resident care areas for cleanliness and readiness, potentially filling in for clinical support staff, and acting as a point of contact for technical training and troubleshooting. The supervisor is responsible for utilizing and ensuring staff follow the nursing process for individualized care, collaborating with inter-professional colleagues, managing personal care, medication administration, care planning, scheduling physician visits, and coordinating with families and external agencies to meet client needs. Additionally, the role assists with human resources administrative processing, budget information preparation, and new staff training and orientation. Knowledge of clinical practices, strategic planning, administrative and financial principles, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to remain calm in emergencies are essential. The supervisor will interpret, adapt, and supply guidelines and procedures, follow up with risk management, and train clinical staff as needed. They will also be knowledgeable of common safety hazards and precautions, participate in reviewing clinical performance assessments, recommend process improvements, and implement established performance improvement policies while training employees on them. The role functions within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined by the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules, and adheres to the American Nurses Association's Scope and Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics for Nurses.
