Requirements

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Minimum of 5 years nursing experience, with at least 2 of them in hospice nursing.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Strong clinical judgment, leadership skills, and knowledge of hospice regulations, documentation standards, and quality practices.
Clinical assessment and hospice nursing expertise
Staff supervision and coaching
Scheduling and workforce management
Critical thinking and clinical decision-making
Communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
Regulatory compliance and documentation management
EMR and QAPI proficiency

Responsibilities

Supervise and support NEWT RNs and LPNs while providing oversight to CNAs, Social Workers, and Chaplains.
Coordinate staffing schedules and support payroll processes.
Coach, mentor, and develop team members, including conducting performance evaluations.
Oversee interdisciplinary care delivery and ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Provide direct patient care during scheduled shifts and periods of high patient volume.
Partner with leadership and quality teams to support compliance, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
