Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved RN nursing program
  • Valid and current New York RN license
  • Current BLS through American Heart Association
  • Cardiovascular care experience
  • Proven ability to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population and for CPR, oxygen administration and intravenous therapy

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in nursing
  • ACLS
  • Outpatient clinic experience
  • Windows based computer skills and EMR experience
  • Good knowledge of cardiovascular diagnostic tests and medicines used in the treatment of cardiovascular disease

Responsibilities

  • Participates in patient care activities and adheres to the requirements of a Registered Nurse when providing direct patient care.
  • Makes sound nursing judgment based on nursing theory.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with all members of the healthcare delivery system, assisting physicians with their in-baskets and making patient calls when needed.
  • Considers the needs of the department, preplanning, and proactive adjusting as needed.
  • Ensures medical record documentation is legible, concise, accurate, and timely.
  • Communicates all important facts to the Administrator and Manager.
  • Ensures specific appropriate patient education and completion of required forms.
  • Maintains active professional relationships with doctors, co-workers, and patients by assessing needs and levels of satisfaction with the Cardiology clinic and its diagnostic departments.
  • Demonstrates a positive, friendly, and courteous manner.
  • Identifies opportunities to enhance the services provided by the Cardiology Department.
  • Serves as a role model to other staff.
  • Supervises and motivates a work team while maintaining the highest company standards.
  • Administers the clinical staff work schedule.
  • Manages all aspects of clinical policies and protocols.
  • Provides feedback to address processing issues.
  • Responds to provider inquiries.
  • Responsible for the flow of patient care in the office.
  • Motivates people and leads by example with a positive attitude that is professional, courteous, and cheerful.
  • Complies with local, State, and Federal rules and regulations and accreditation guidelines.
  • Reports 100% of regulatory concerns or unusual occurrences to the supervisor nurse within 24 hours of occurrence.
  • Notifies the administrator immediately when patient injury or disaster occurs.
  • Ensures RN license and ACLS and CPR certification are kept current and on file at the Center.
