RN - Supervisor - Emergency Department - Days
About The Position
This position supervises and coordinates unit staffing and provides leadership while ensuring the implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the assigned area. The role involves assigning, directing, educating, and monitoring nursing and support staff during the assigned shift. The supervisor will contribute to or perform performance evaluations of staff, assess daily patient care needs, and develop and distribute patient care assignments, ensuring population-appropriate care. They will also evaluate the effectiveness of patient care, identify issues affecting patient outcomes, and respond to complaints about patient care, managing them through established channels. Input for hiring, training, directing, developing, and evaluating staff may also be provided.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- ACLS obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
- Required professional licensure/certification.
- 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
