About The Position

Sentara’s Student Liaison invites 2026-2027 Registered Nursing students to join virtual learning sessions designed for RN students about to graduate and preparing for next steps. These sessions cover Sentara's Nurse Residency program, joining the Sentara team, building professional documents, and preparing for manager interviews. Sentara values new graduate RNs and offers professional support to start their careers. Hiring managers welcome interested candidates to discuss opportunities. Requirements

• Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.
• New Graduate RN who is in the licensing process or has completed the process.
• Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing.
• Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
• RN with less than 12 months experience or transitioning to a new practice area for the Nurse Residency Program.

Nice To Haves

• Areas of study include Medical Surgical, Critical care, Emergency Department, IMC/Stepdown, Operating room, Women’s Health.

Responsibilities

• Participate in virtual learning sessions about Sentara's Nurse Residency program.
• Learn about joining the Sentara team.
• Receive guidance on building professional documents such as resumes.
• Prepare for manager interviews.
• Transition from student to professional RN with support.
• Sharpen critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Gain hands-on experience alongside trained preceptors.
• Engage in professional development sessions.
