About The Position

The RN - Stroke Data Specialist shall be responsible to identify, abstract, and report on all data requirements for a primary Stroke Center, Thrombectomy capable, or a Comprehensive Stroke Program, and to support of the requirements of the American Heart and Stroke Association/GWTG Stroke as directed. This individual will work with all disciplines to ensure core measures are met by evidence base practice, and monitor time sensitive quality indicators to assure timely care of stroke patients. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Requirements

  • Active RN licensure required
  • Minimum 3 years clinical background with relevant clinical experience
  • Data management system experience required
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software
  • Strong team leadership skills
  • Strong organization, interpersonal, and customer relations skills
  • Must be able to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Must be able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Proven track record of successful performance
  • Ability to understand complex multifactor situations and bring appropriate solutions
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
  • Ability to observe, assesses, and record work, safety and infection control standards

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in neuroscience nursing or closely related field such as rehab therapy, emergency care, critical care, or research coordinator preferred
