About The Position

The RN, Staff SC (Endocrinology Clinic) delivers individualized nursing care to patients and families in a specialty clinic setting. Using the nursing process, the nurse provides clinical expertise that supports the medical treatment plan established by the specialty care team. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, implementing specialized interventions, and coordinating care according to the clinical standards of the specialty service. The role integrates patient advocacy with evidence-based practice to provide precise, high-quality specialty care.

The schedule is four days per week, with an alternating day off, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position is based at the Dodson Medical Office Building in the Endocrinology Clinic. Cook Children’s is a Texas-only employer; employees must maintain their primary residence in Texas and keep all required licenses and credentials current throughout employment.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of direct nursing experience.
• Associate’s degree in nursing.
• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• Maintain primary residence in Texas and all licenses and credentials required for the position throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient requirements and needs.
• Implement specialized nursing interventions.
• Coordinate care in accordance with the specialty service’s clinical standards.
• Deliver individualized, patient-centered nursing care to patients and families.
• Provide clinical expertise that augments the specialty care team’s medical treatment plan.
• Apply evidence-based practice and patient advocacy to deliver specialty care.
