About The Position

Legacy Health's nursing philosophy centers on patients and their families, with nurses acting as advocates, communicators, problem-solvers, and caregivers. This role is located at Legacy Silverton Medical Center, serving communities in Marion, Clackamas, and Polk Counties, approximately 40 miles south of Portland in the Willamette Valley. The position is covered by an agreement between the Oregon Nurses Association and Silverton Medical Center, which includes union dues. The RN Staff Nurse is responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit and collaborates with the health care team under the direction of the clinical manager, adhering to the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse. This includes assessing, analyzing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care according to Legacy Health System standards.

Requirements

  • Current applicable state RN license required
  • AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers
  • One-year registered nursing experience or completion of either the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program that is equivalent in content, curriculum and duration
  • Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community
  • Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions
  • Must be available and able to meet the 45-minute call requirement

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred
  • BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO
  • Additional clinical experience requirements may vary dependent upon the specific department in which the position is utilized
  • Current acute care hospital experience, ambulatory surgery/procedure pre-op/post-op experience preferred
  • Recovery and discharge experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit
  • Participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse
  • Assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health System including those for patient assessment and transfer
