About The Position

The RN Staff Nurse works in Medical Specialties, a 32-private-bed unit with remote telemetry monitoring capacity for 12 patients, at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center. The nurse provides patient care within an assigned department or unit as a member of the health care team, in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee. The role follows the relevant Registered Nurse Standards and Scope of Practice and Legacy Health System patient care standards, including standards for patient assessment and transfer. Legacy’s nursing philosophy focuses on patients and families, with nurses serving as advocates, communicators, problem-solvers, and caregivers.

Requirements

• Current applicable state RN license.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• One year of registered nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program equivalent in content, curriculum, and duration.
• Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
• Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
• Education as required by licensure.

Nice To Haves

• BSN or degree in progress is strongly preferred.
• A BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO.
