RN Staff Nurse - Medical Specialties
About The Position
The RN Staff Nurse provides patient care within an assigned department or unit and participates as a member of the health care team, cooperating with and working under the direction of the clinical manager or designee. The nurse follows the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse and Legacy Health System patient care standards, including standards for patient assessment and transfer. The role assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care. The position is with Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in North Portland, a local and regional center for serious clinical illness and injury, with expertise in areas including trauma, heart care, burns, significant wounds, stroke, and brain surgery.
Requirements
- Education as required by licensure.
- One year of registered nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program equivalent in content, curriculum, and duration.
- Additional clinical experience requirements may vary depending on the department.
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
- Current applicable state RN license.
- AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or a degree in progress is strongly preferred. BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO.
