RN Staff Nurse - Women's Services
About The Position
Legacy Health’s nursing philosophy centers on patients and their families. Nurses serve as advocates, communicators, problem-solvers, and caregivers, and are respected members of the health care team. This position is at Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center, a full-service hospital serving East County. The hospital offers services including advanced imaging, emergency care, surgery, intensive care, cancer care, and gastroenterology. The Staff Nurse provides care in an assigned department or unit as part of the health care team, collaborating with and working under the direction of the clinical manager or designee. The nurse adheres to the applicable Registered Nurse standards and scope of practice and carries out all aspects of the nursing process.
Requirements
- Current applicable state Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association.
- One year of registered nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program equivalent in content, curriculum, and duration.
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
- Education as required by licensure.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or progress toward a BSN is strongly preferred.
- Additional clinical experience may be required depending on the specific department.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care within an assigned department or unit.
- Function as a member of the health care team in collaboration with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee.
- Adhere to the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse.
- Assess, analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Follow Legacy Health System patient care standards, including standards for patient assessment and patient transfer.
