Relocation assistance is available for nurses new to Legacy Health. The Legacy nursing philosophy centers on patients and their families, with nurses acting as advocates, communicators, problem-solvers, and caregivers. This role requires flexibility to travel to various sites throughout Legacy Health to provide patient care. The Vascular Access Nurse consults with providers and nurses to determine the most appropriate vascular access device based on patient assessment and treatment plans. They are responsible for placing various vascular access devices, including peripheral intravenous catheters (PIV), Peripheral Inserted Central Catheters (PICC), Midline catheters, and Intra-osseous catheters. Additionally, they access and de-access implanted ports, manage central venous access devices (including routine dressing changes and cap changes), and intervene to maintain device patency. This nurse serves as a resource for the healthcare team regarding intravenous access, device placement, management, and patient/family education. The service area includes both inpatient and outpatient settings.
