About The Position

The RN, Staff SC (Specialty Clinic) is responsible for delivering individualized nursing care tailored to the specific needs of patients and their families within a specialty clinic environment. Utilizing the nursing process as a foundational framework, this role provides clinical expertise that augments the medical plan of treatment established by the specialty care team. The nurse is responsible for assessing patient requirements, implementing specialized interventions, and coordinating care that aligns with the unique clinical standards of the specific specialty service. By integrating patient-centered advocacy with evidence-based practice, the RN Staff SC ensures that complex specialty care is delivered with high precision and clinical excellence. This position is responsible for seeing and caring for patients in a clinic setting with lifelong and acute hematologic diagnoses. Carrying out orders given by physicians including injections, med recs, and collaborating with other specialties including lab, infusion, child life, pharmacy, social work, home health, and insurance team. Answering and addressing phone calls/emails/other forms of communication for patients and families. Scheduling follow up appointments, ordering interventions such as scans, labs, and procedures. Daily chart preparation to ensure optimal clinic and patient care. Educate families on plan of care and reviewing medication use/purposes.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of direct nursing experience
  • Associate's degree in nursing
  • Active, unrestricted TX Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • BLS.
  • PALS.
