About The Position

This position utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, to achieve prioritized patient outcomes within the RN scope of practice. The role involves collaborating with healthcare providers to coordinate medical and nursing management, performing emergency treatments, maintaining documentation, communicating effectively with healthcare team members, and promoting patient and staff safety. The Registered Nurse will also perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to administer medications, treatments, and procedures safely
  • Ability to utilize proper body mechanics, transfer/lifting techniques

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care.
  • Performs comprehensive nursing assessments and full body system analysis.
  • Reviews, discusses, and implements healthcare provider orders, taking appropriate action when questions arise.
  • Responds to patient needs in a timely fashion and recognizes abnormal symptoms/changes in patient condition.
  • Serves as a patient advocate and demonstrates personal accountability in patient care delivery.
  • Collaborates with healthcare providers and ancillary areas to coordinate patient care.
  • Directs patient support team members effectively.
  • Demonstrates initiative and flexibility in patient care.
  • Informs and involves Clinic Nurse Manager regarding patient care issues.
  • Completes patient and family education.
  • Performs emergency treatment as required, triages emergency situations, and administers emergent care.
  • Follows emergency policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Documents accurate and ongoing assessments of patient status, patient responses, and patient teaching.
  • Communicates and collaborates effectively with other health team members regarding patient condition and needs.
  • Promotes and ensures patient and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities.
  • Administers medications, treatments, and procedures safely and in a timely manner.
  • Utilizes proper body mechanics, transfer/lifting techniques, and implements infectious disease controls.
