About The Position

This role utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The Registered Nurse (RN) will collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate medical and nursing management, direct patient support teams, and educate patients and families. Responsibilities include performing emergency treatments, maintaining accurate documentation, communicating effectively with healthcare team members, and promoting patient and staff safety through safe medication administration and adherence to infection control protocols. The position also involves performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current RN license.
  • Proficiency in the nursing process.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive nursing assessments.
  • Skill in reviewing and implementing health care provider orders.
  • Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills with healthcare providers and team members.

  • Ability to administer emergent care across various age groups (newborn to geriatrics).

  • Effective communication and collaboration with health team members.
  • Ability to promote and ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Safe administration of medications, treatments, and procedures.
  • Adherence to standard precautions and use of two patient identifiers.
  • Knowledge and application of proper body mechanics and transfer/lifting techniques.
  • Implementation of infectious disease controls and isolation procedures.
  • Proficiency in hand washing and glove use.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care.
  • Performs comprehensive nursing assessments and full body system analysis.
  • Reviews, discusses, and implements health care provider orders and addresses any questions.
  • Responds to patient needs in a timely fashion and recognizes/responds to abnormal symptoms or changes in patient condition.
  • Serves as a patient advocate and demonstrates personal accountability in patient care delivery.
  • Collaborates with health care providers to coordinate medical and nursing management.
  • Works effectively with ancillary areas as part of a team approach to patient care.
  • Directs patient support team members effectively and appropriately.
  • Demonstrates initiative and flexibility in patient care.
  • Informs and involves Clinic Nurse Manager regarding patient care issues.
  • Completes patient and family education.
  • Performs emergency treatment as required.
  • Initiates or assists in patient care in an effective and responsive manner.
  • Triages emergency situations appropriately and involves other resources as needed.
  • Administers and performs emergent care for patients ranging from newborn to geriatrics.
  • Follows emergency policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Documents accurate and ongoing assessments of patient status, responses, and teaching.
  • Communicates and collaborates effectively with other health team members regarding patient condition, satisfaction, and recommendations.
  • Appropriately reports condition changes to the medical provider.
  • Promotes and ensures patient and staff safety.
  • Administers medications, treatments, and procedures safely according to orders and policy.
  • Performs standard precautions and uses two patient identifiers.
  • Utilizes proper body mechanics and transfer/lifting techniques to minimize fall risk and injury.
  • Implements infectious disease controls, including isolation procedures and proper hand hygiene/glove use.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
