About The Position

AHRC New York City is a family-governed organization dedicated to envisioning a socially just world that embraces the power of difference. For over 50 years, AHRC New York City has operated sleepaway summer camps, providing experiences to over 1,000 individuals and offering much-needed respite to their families. Their two summer camps, Camp Anne (Ancramdale) and The Lodge (East Jewett), are successfully accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). The organization offers various Nursing Employment Opportunities at these two Upstate New York summer camps. This role is presented as an opportunity to provide nursing services in a less stressful, more rewarding setting, ideal for nurses looking to rediscover their passion for nursing or for school nurses seeking additional income in a supportive environment.

Requirements

  • A Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree
  • Nurse Graduate or Nursing student to assist in health center
  • Current CPR for the Professional and First Aid (These will be provided if you are unable to obtain them prior to the camp sessions.)
  • You must have a NY state license, including mandated Infection Control and Child Abuse curriculum

Responsibilities

  • Review camper medical records and partner with parents and staff to create tailored health plans that adhere to campers needs
  • Ensure health and safety of campers and staff
  • Provide medical care to the camp community
  • Maintain accurate record keeping for prescriptions, treatments, and incident reports
  • Dispense medication
  • Daily sick call
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies
