Cleveland Clinic Children’s provides specialized, comprehensive outpatient care for pediatric blood disorders and cancers, including leukemia and lymphoma. The team delivers diagnosis, treatment, infusion services, and long-term follow-up for children and young adults, often with same-day or next-day appointments available. A caregiver in this position works rotating days Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Main Campus. No weekends or holidays.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
One year of recent experience as an RN OR Licensed RN with at least 2 years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department may substitute for required RN experience.
In areas performing moderate sedation procedures must have current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Certification within 6 months of hire.
Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings.
Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
Educate patients and families.
Cover other nursing roles in the department.
