About The Position

EvergreenHealth's Residency Program consists of group practicums and lectures that support the graduate RN to mitigate the education-to-industry gap. We foster growth in the clinical, professional, and transitional aspects of professional nursing practice. The Residency program incorporates collaborative team support by managers, preceptors and clinical nurse educators. To receive consideration for this RN Resident program, please submit an application to include a comprehensive resume (that includes rotation and practicum information) and a one-page cover letter that describes your interest in the Family Maternity Center (FMC), specifically Labor & Delivery, and includes the personal and professional attributes you would bring to this program and unit.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a nursing program (Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and/or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree by December 21, 2026
  • Successful completion of NCLEX by January 18, 2027
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington OR holding a multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license by February 15, 2027
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification by March 1, 2027
  • NRP certification by the end of residency
  • Able to start on March 1, 2027

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
  • Assesses the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
  • Coordinates the patient and family/significant other education process.
  • Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, incorporating patient and family/significant other into the process.
  • Participates with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family/significant other plan of care.
  • Communicates effectively all relevant information (e.g., patient information, safety issues, problems with equipment, quality issues, etc.) to immediate supervisor, in timely way.
  • Communicates and documents changes in patient condition, on a timely basis, to charge nurse/supervisor and physician.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
