About The Position

The Northeast Georgia Health System RN Residency Program is a structured & comprehensive 12-month Program for licensed Registered Nurses with less than one year of experience as an RN. We are proud to be one of only four ANCC accredited Practice Transition Programs in the state of Georgia! The Program supports your transition into professional Nursing Practice through: 14-24 weeks of orientation with a dedicated Preceptor, Dedicated Mentors, Nurse Manager & Nurse Coordinators, Use of our state-of-the-art Simulation Labs, Quarterly Seminars, and Didactic Learning. The Fall 2026 Cohort has a start date of Monday, October 19, 2026. Available Departments include Medical Surgical (Acute care/post-surgical), Observation (Medical, Emergency, Cardiac), Emergency Department, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Peri-op (OR), and Women & Children's Services. Locations include NGMC Gainesville, NGMC Braselton, NGMC Lumpkin, NGMC Barrow, and NGMC Habersham.

Requirements

  • Licensed Registered Nurses with less than one year of experience as an RN.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in didactic learning.
  • Participate in state-of-the-art simulations.
  • Receive training with a dedicated preceptor.
  • Complete 14-24 weeks of orientation with a dedicated Preceptor.
  • Work with Dedicated Mentors, Nurse Manager & Nurse Coordinators.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art Simulation Labs.
  • Attend Quarterly Seminars.
