Duke Life Flight is Duke Health's critical care and emergency air and ground transport team, accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems. The team consists of paramedics, nurses, respiratory therapists, emergency medical technicians, and communications specialists who provide rapid, compassionate care and transport to critically ill patients of all ages. Duke Life Flight also operates a Code Blue Response Team and supports event medicine needs. This role involves working within a CAMTS Accredited multi-disciplinary team, expanding knowledge in an evidence-based and protocol-driven autonomous environment. Responsibilities include patient transport, rounding on inpatient units, conducting medical record audits, participating in continuing education, and contributing to policy revisions. The ideal candidate possesses strong neonatal and pediatrics knowledge, ambition, energy, flexibility, adaptability, trust, and compassion. The team is crucial for patient survival and recovery, providing an intense level of care during transport from initial pick-up to arrival at Duke University Hospital.
