As a Flight RN, you will be stationed at one of four bases located in Arizona and work with highly experienced flight medical crews to provide care to critical patients. Join us in this startup endeavor that will create a legacy for emergency transportation. This is a full time position working 2 24hr shifts/wk, with 1 on-call shift required a month. This is a Relief RN for Banner Payson. In this position your main base will be located in Payson, AZ but you will float to bases in Queen Creek, Casa Grande and Sun City West as needed. This role will start on 9/28 and will require candidates to travel to Denton, TX for 1 week (9/30-10/10) for flight training before returning to Phoenix.

Requirements

• Must possess a current, valid RN license in the state of hire and compact status for any other states the program serves.
• Current Certifications required upon hire include: ACLS, PALS and BLS.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) card must be obtained prior to assuming clinical responsibilities.
• If hired on or before 10/9/25 Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) required within 30 months of hire. If hired after 10/9/25, Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) required within 24 months of hire.
• Minimum of three years Critical Care and/or Emergency Department experience.
• Maintain flight duty weight of less than 225 pounds in plain clothes.
• Must have training and competencies prior to assuming clinical responsibilities in advanced procedures such as: central line placement, advanced airway, chest tube placement, arterial lines, umbilical lines and other advanced procedures.
• Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job.
• Must have the ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills and autonomous practice as evidenced by successful completion of testing throughout the interview and orientation process.
• Colorado Employees Only: Valid Driver's License on date of hire and maintenance thereafter.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Rotor wing/fixed wing/ground critical care transport experience desired.
• Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides care and transport for critically ill or injured patients of all age groups. Independently assesses patients, intervenes with medications and procedures and provides care to maximum outcomes.
• Collaborates with other health team members and healthcare team members from other facilities to provide continuity of care and the highest level of care that may not be available at some external facilities
• Communicates effectively while working with internal and external customers including hospitals, EMS, and police and fire departments.
• Completes annual education requirements as outlined in the annual education requirements document.
• Performs advanced procedures with appropriate training and competency validations. Procedures include, but are not limited to: chest tubes, central lines, I/O placement, cricothyrotomy, and intubation.
• Performs all physical requirements of the job in confined spaces, during potentially adverse environmental conditions.
• Operates an assigned vehicle in varying weather conditions, providing safe, reliable, and timely transport to a designated point of service as needed (Colorado Employees only).
• Employ solutions oriented and collaborative practices with others to find safe means to both move towards patients and find transport solutions when operational constraints may prohibit normal operations and capabilities.
• Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.
