About The Position

The Registered Nurse’s responsibilities in Radiation Oncology include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for a complex patient population. The RN provides patient and family education, psychosocial and emotional support, and functions as a member of a multidisciplinary care team. This role requires clinical expertise, critical thinking, collaborative practice, excellent communication skills, and an understanding of clinical research principles. Requirements

Graduate of an NLN or CCE accredited school of nursing
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Current CPR certification
Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an RN in Oncology
Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills
Ability to function in a busy setting with complex patient needs

Nice To Haves

BSN
Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN, AOCN, or CPON)
Radiation Oncology specialty experience
Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an RN in an Ambulatory Oncology setting

Responsibilities

Implements the nursing process: assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care.

Responds to emergencies and maintains BLS certification.
