About The Position
Sage Group HealthCare Staffing is seeking a Psychiatric RN for a travel/contract position in Radcliff, KY. This role involves providing all aspects of Psychiatric nursing care in assigned inpatient mental health or behavioral health units, with the possibility of floating to other units. The position requires coordination and evaluation of patient care through collaboration with health team members, adhering to the nursing process and standards of care. Responsibilities include assessing patients' physical and behavioral health needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, managing admissions, patient monitoring, and charting. Collaboration with other medical staff for patient care planning and administration is also a key aspect of this role. The role utilizes paper charting, HCS for orders, and Omnicell for medications, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6-8.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse: 2 years - Required
- Recent/Current Inpatient Acute Psychiatric Nursing or Behavioral health experience: 2 years – Required
- Adolescent experience - Required
- ASN or an equivalent – Required
- RN License for State of IN or Compact - Required
- BLS Certification from AHA or American Red Cross - Required
Nice To Haves
- BSN or an equivalent – Highly preferred
- CPI Certification - Preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide all aspects of Psychiatric nursing care in the assigned units and float to other units as required
- Coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served.
- Provide care within assigned units, may float to other units if required
- Assess patients’ physical and behavioral health needs and Develop and implement nursing care plans
- Admissions, Patient monitoring and charting
- Collaborate with other medical staff for patient care planning and administration
