RN - Psych Acute - Mercy San Diego
About The Position
This is a full-time position with benefits (64-hrs. per pay period) working an 8-hour DAY shift on various days of the week, from 7am to 3:30pm, and working every other weekend. Scripps Mercy Hospital, founded in 1890, is the oldest hospital in San Diego County and features 700 licensed acute-care beds. The Registered Nurse will join the 36-bed Psychiatric Acute Unit and will be responsible for providing direct patient care, observation, and management of behavioral health patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team and manages the de-escalation of behavioral disturbances. This position is eligible for New Hire Incentives for external candidates.
Requirements
- One (1) year of RN experience
- Current CA Registered Nurse License
- Current BLS from the American Heart Association
- Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Previous RN experience in Behavioral Health and/or ED experience
Responsibilities
- Providing direct patient care, observation and management of behavioral health patients.
- Assessment, plan and implement care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes.
- Takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team.
- Manage de-escalation of behavioral disturbances
