About The Position

At Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS), we're determined to take care of those working in healthcare. As a Progressive Care (Acute Care Step-down) Registered Nurse at Presbyterian Hospital, you'll coordinate nursing care – including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. We welcome applications from both new graduates and experienced RNs! New graduates have the opportunity to participate in our mandatory residency program, which includes monthly seminars led by the Nurse Residency Team, peer-to-peer debriefing sessions, support groups/mentoring, and rounding. Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or above required.
  • Registered Nurse-NM State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
  • BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree from accredited academic nursing program preferred

Responsibilities

  • Progressive Care units include Acute Medical Step-Down, Cardiac Step-Down, and Neuro Step-Down.
  • In Progressive Care, there are opportunities for RNs to gain leadership experience through Preceptor, Clinical Practice Leader, Relief Charge and Quality Improvement roles.
  • Coordinate nursing care – including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care.
