About The Position

This nurse position is accountable for the day-to-day management of assigned clinical program(s) and related team(s) and/or interdisciplinary projects supporting the ambulatory clinical practice and involving diverse and multidisciplinary stakeholders. Provides program-based analytical and nursing leadership, content expertise, clinical judgement, and support to departmental leadership and Ambulatory Nursing Administration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing
  • 5 years Inpatient/outpatient experience in direct patient care nursing
  • (RN) REGISTERED NURSE Licensure by Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas Upon Hire
  • (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT Certification by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Upon Hire

Responsibilities

  • Manages interdisciplinary projects and/or oversees day-to-day operations of assigned program within the ambulatory clinical setting and/or across the care continuum
  • Provides analytical support for designated or assigned programs related to quality improvement, patient safety and outcomes supporting clinic operations and goals, and other services as needed to promote highest quality of care
  • Serves as departmental liaison for all related program-related matters
  • Develops new program strategic plans, sets and continually manages program expectations from senior leadership and other identified key stakeholders. (Key stakeholders include but not limited to NOMAD, Health System Safety, Clinical Education & Training, Workflow Informaticists.)
  • As appropriate and in collaboration with collaborating department(s) and ambulatory nursing leadership, develops full-scale project plans and associated analytics by performing one or more of the following: Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts. Identifies and manages program dependencies and critical paths. Plans, schedules and tracks project timelines and milestones, and develops and automates data displays using charts and reporting tables to present data. Identifies and tracks key program metrics, leading to data-driven decision making. Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations. Conducts post project reviews and creates recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful program elements.
  • Defines and re-evaluates at routine interval program success criteria and communicates progress to involved parties in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Serves as liaison on behalf of Ambulatory Nursing and to or with departments and clinic leadership to facilitate consistent policies and practices, new initiatives, patient advocacy and reporting across ambulatory program(s).
  • Coordinates staff onboarding for assigned portfolio or program, to ensure training in departmental and clinic processes and expectations occurs in a timely manner.
  • As appropriate, represents department as assigned to Ambulatory and Health System committees and/or councils.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
