Responsible for overseeing nursing staff onboarding/orientation programs, competency assessment and management programs, and patient outcomes improvement efforts at the facility/unit level. Supervises and directs service line nursing professional development outcomes leaders (SL NPDOLs). Selects, trains, develops, disciplines and evaluates employees as well as delegates their work assignments. Reviews NPD requests and encourages team members to perform detailed gap analysis to differentiate education, system, and performance issues. Collaborates with central team nursing professional development staff to implement pre-licensure, onboarding/orientation, role development (nurse residency and preceptor), and competency assessment programs. Fosters a positive practice environment by supporting a culture of interprofessional collaboration and professional governance. Collaborates with CNS to develop SL NPDOL quality improvement processes and workflows that promote optimal patient outcomes. Collects and analyzes data related to program outcomes including, but not limited to, measurable quantitative metrics, staff satisfaction and retention, measures of provider competencies and patient outcomes. Partners with a variety of leaders to create an environment supportive of continued regulatory agency survey readiness. Assists director in developing and managing the departmental budget. Develop, update, and maintain Lean Daily Management board metrics. Annual department policy reviews and updates.
