About The Position

Responsible for the delivery of patient care for assigned patients on a specific shift worked. Coordination of all aspects of the medical plan and nursing standards of care using the nursing process for triage, L&D, Circulating/scrub for C-Sections, Post-partum, antepartum, and nursery. Also directs and guides the activities of other personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Must be able to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the obstetrical department. Must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the information. Must be able to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures. This position requires weekend and call rotation. Requirements

  • Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • CPR
  • ACLS
  • NRP
  • 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
  • Must be a Registered Nurse licensed to practice as a professional nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Must have a strong desire to work with a high-risk and complex patient population.
  • Must have solid critical thinking skills and a strong application of the nursing process.
  • Must have effective adherence to infection control practices.
  • Positive attitude, with enthusiasm for caring for our community
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • HIPPA - no breaches of confidentiality.
