As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Pre- and Post-Operative Department, you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care for pre- and post-operative patients undergoing surgical cases including, but not limited to, general, thoracic, robotics and cardiovascular surgeries, ensuring safety and quality. In this role, you will have a focus on Phase II or the discharge unit while also rotating through other areas, as needed. On this nursing team, you will feel supported and appreciated for the knowledge you have to share and have access to our advanced technology and research to ensure all patients receive world-class care. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 7:00PM or 8:00AM – 5:30PM.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • One year of current critical care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of employment
  • Periop 101 or validated OJT for the operating room setting

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • RN experience in a critical care setting (ICU, PACU and perioperative services) or Emergency Department

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
