RN PRE ADMISSION TESTING PER DIEM DAYS
About The Position
The Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Registered Nurse coordinates and completes preoperative assessments for patients scheduled for surgical or procedural interventions. The RN ensures patients are medically optimized and prepared for surgery by conducting comprehensive nursing assessments, reviewing diagnostic testing, coordinating with physicians and ancillary departments, and providing patient education. The role helps reduce surgical delays and cancellations by identifying potential clinical risks before the day of surgery and ensuring required documentation, laboratory testing, and clearances are completed in advance.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience required.
- Strong clinical assessment skills.
- Knowledge of surgical and anesthesia risk factors.
- Ability to interpret laboratory values and diagnostic test results.
- Excellent patient education and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple cases and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Active Florida RN License.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience in Pre-Admission Testing, pre-operative nursing, PACU, Surgical Services, Critical Care, or Emergency Department strongly preferred.
