About The Position

This role involves frequently checking on PACU patients, monitoring their vital signs and other post-surgical factors. The nurse will review each patient’s medical history, noting important information, and perform post-operative tasks such as changing bandages and administering medications. The position also includes providing patients and their family members or caretakers with information about home recovery, including any restrictions on diet or activity. A key responsibility is determining if patients are ready to leave the facility or if they require more specialized care in the ICU. Collaboration with physicians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, technologists, and other hospital personnel is essential for providing quality patient care.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Experience in Perioperative/PACU settings
• Ability to monitor vital signs
• Knowledge of post-surgical care
• Ability to administer medications
• Skills in patient and family education regarding home recovery
• Ability to assess patient readiness for discharge or transfer to ICU
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
