About The Position

The RN Perioperative Coordinator functions as an integral member of the multidisciplinary perioperative team by coordinating preoperative patient readiness, surgical scheduling, and regulatory compliance to ensure safe, efficient surgical care. Responsibilities include reviewing surgical schedules, verifying completion of required documentation and preoperative testing, facilitating communication among providers and departments, monitoring quality metrics, and supporting process improvement initiatives to optimize patient outcomes and reduce preventable surgical delays and cancellations.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program
  • Valid RN license in the state(s) of practice, including eligibility under the an NLC multistate license
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Minimum of two (2) years of perioperative, surgical services, pre-admission testing or procedural nursing experience.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the nursing process and perioperative standards of care.
  • Strong understanding of surgical scheduling, patient preparation, and perioperative workflows.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to surgical documentation and patient readiness.
  • Excellent organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to identify workflow barriers and implement process improvements.
  • Strong analytical skills for quality reporting and operational data review.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of perioperative medication management, including GLP-1 guidelines.

  • Experience with quality improvement methodologies preferred
