About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Per Diem Pool Team 2 at Allegheny General Hospital, focusing on Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units. The role involves covering various areas within the hospital based on specialty and clinical expertise, providing care for a diverse patient population with varying acuity levels. The team is composed of highly trained RNs who are prepared to care for critically ill patients and also mentor and precept other nurses. Allegheny General Hospital is a Level I Shock Trauma Center with state-of-the-art ICUs and a Cancer Center, boasting over 550 beds. Requirements

Minimum 3 years acute care nursing experience required in Med Surg/Tele
Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
CPR – American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Responsibilities

Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning skills.
Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
Professionally directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team members.
Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge.
Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn.
