About The Position

The RN in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is responsible for providing direct patient care on the 4th Floor East Wing. This role involves managing patient care for a primarily adult population, with occasional pediatric patients aged 15 and older.

Requirements

• Driver's license required at submittal for radius rule compliance.
• Pass an open book examination with a minimum of 90% during orientation.
• Hold current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Proficiency with the EPIC charting system and Alaris IV pumps.
• Ability to float to medical surgical areas as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients using telemetry, PCA pumps for pain management, cardizem, and insulin.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including educators, care managers, and social workers.
• Maintain compliance with unit policies, including the prohibition of artificial nails in patient care areas.
• Participate in hourly rounding and patient responsiveness initiatives.
• Monitor and manage a patient RN ratio of 1:4 during night shifts.
