Requirements

Licensed California Registered Nurse.
Education must meet the requirements for California licensure, upon hire.
Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire.
Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire.
Fire Safety, within 90 Days.

Complete patient assessments competently.
Assess for and identify needs of unit-specific patient population: physical, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, discharge and cultural needs.
Complete an individualized plan of care based on assessment of the patient.
Coordinate with other disciplines when indicated.
Prioritize care needs and sets measurable goals and time frames.
Include patient and family in the planning.
Implement interventions based on nursing and medical plan of care.
Manage patient population, diagnosis and age specific needs through appropriate adaptation of interventions.
Appropriately utilize equipment and supplies (including following established policies, procedures and protocols governing the transport, handling and storage of intravenous fluids).
Reassess the patient to verify effectiveness of interventions.
Update the plan of care to reflect current care needs.
