About The Position

The Staff RN works on a 40-bed medical-surgical and telemetry unit specializing in post-operative and complex orthopedic care. Patients may include people recovering from total knee and hip replacements, as well as patients with complex orthopedic cases and pulmonary, sepsis, gastrointestinal, endocrine, cardiac, renal, and psychiatric illnesses. Nursing care may involve titratable drips, chest tubes, tracheostomies, wound care, high-oxygen delivery systems, and end-of-life care. The unit, known as the “Hip Squad,” emphasizes orthopedic expertise, teamwork, innovation, and a positive, solutions-focused culture. Its nursing care delivery model is designed for efficiency, with staffing models based on patient acuity. Unit leaders support staff members’ professional and personal growth. New nurses attend nurse residency, which includes a medical-surgical fellowship. The nurse provides, prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care with other health care providers to meet the holistic care needs of a designated group of patients. The environment of care may be long-term, emergent, critical, acute, interventional, or procedural. The position is available full-time or part-time and is a day-shift role, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, with weekend and holiday shifts required.
