Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical Orthopedic
About The Position
This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in an Orthopedic Medical Surgical Inpatient setting on the 3MESG unit, which is South Shore's primary surgical unit. The nurse will care for patients recovering from procedures such as total knee replacements, bowel resections, and amputations. The unit also handles a diverse mix of medical cases, including pneumonia, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, and stable pediatric patients aged 16+, all within a fast-paced 33-bed unit. The RN will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. This involves using evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
