About The Position
Franciscan Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Operating Room at the Lafayette East Campus. RNs provide comprehensive care to patients and their families by listening, assessing patient needs, developing and implementing plans of care, and reassessing and evaluating patients throughout their care. The department has 10 operating rooms and handles a case mix that includes orthopedic and spine procedures, vascular and open-heart surgery, laparoscopies, robotic hysterectomies, and spinal fusion cases. The available schedule is a 0.9 day shift, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. New graduates are welcome. Travel is never or rarely required.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing/Patient Care.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license from the State Licensing Board in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing/Patient Care.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association, if required by the unit.
- Franciscan Alliance unit-specific certifications, if required by the unit.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association, if required by the unit.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics, if required by the unit.
- New graduates are welcome.
Responsibilities
- Listen to and assess patients.
- Develop, implement, reassess, and evaluate each patient's plan of care.
- Provide comprehensive care to patients and their families.
