About The Position

WTCR is seeking a dedicated RN or LVN Staff Nurse to join their team and make a difference on the front lines of the opioid crisis. WTCR is a long-standing medication-assisted treatment network in Texas, providing methadone and buprenorphine treatment and counseling for individuals with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). The organization's mission is to improve patient quality of life, helping them break the cycle of OUD and achieve long-term recovery. The staff nurse will perform supervised nursing duties, including patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation, under the guidance of a WTCR physician. Responsibilities also encompass providing clinical information, administering medications, managing patient assessments, maintaining inventory, and handling medical orders.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved nursing education program.
  • Licensed in good standing as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse (or equivalent) in the State of Texas.
  • Satisfactory criminal history and registry clearances.
  • Satisfactory pre-employment drug screen as required by the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Performs assigned nursing duties, including assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care, under the direct supervision of a WTCR physician.
  • Provides required information about the clinical situation of patients.
  • Administers medications.
  • Performs patient assessment.
  • Manages inventory.
  • Manages medical orders.
  • Administers medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Assists in determining the physical and mental health status of patients through patient observation, assessment, and collection of health-related data.
  • Administers required lab tests, obtains urine toxicology screens, and/or draws blood or other bodily fluids from patients as ordered.
  • Maintains accurate medication and inventory records.
  • Uses a uniform language of case presentation when discussing patient cases.
  • Communicates respectfully with patients and members of the treatment team.
