About The Position

Corewell Health is offering up to $15,000 in sign on bonuses for this opportunity! This role involves working a schedule of 2:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., 4 days one week, 5 days one week, and every other weekend. The unit has 2 floors and 164 beds, providing care for long-term residents and post-acute rehab patients. Nurse-patient ratios vary depending on the shift and patient population. The unit includes a long-term care unit and a rehab unit, with designated areas focusing on patient specialties such as general rehab, neuro rehab, traumatic brain injuries, and cancer. The facility offers integrated services with a mission to provide goal-oriented, compassionate care for patients to live healthy and active lives. The Rehab and Nursing Center-Kentridge is located on a 10-acre campus with indoor and outdoor spaces designed to improve independence, strength, and confidence. It features two main floor courtyards for rest and renewal. Most patient rooms are private with an attached bathroom and shower, television with cable, phone, and a large window. Each unit has a large and accessible living and dining space, and a menu-based meal service is provided.

Requirements

  • Associates in Nursing
  • State of MI Registered Nurse (RN)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an approved nursing program
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days

Responsibilities

  • Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
  • Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health.
  • Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Under the direction of the RN/Mid-level Provider/Physician and in collaboration with other members of the health care team, contributes to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Informs patients and families about treatments and medications being received, equipment being utilized, and other related activities as appropriate, in coordination with the RN/Mid-level Provider/Physician.
  • Documents care provided via computer/written patient record in a manner consistent with guidelines.
