This is a full-time position in the Operating Room Surgical Services Training Academy at High Point Medical Center. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position requires continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, with the ability to administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are essential for fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. The role also involves pursuing professional development, completing required education, maintaining certifications, and adhering to ethical practices. The nurse will be responsible for accurate EHR documentation and may be required to float to other units or facilities. A strong understanding of age-specific care is necessary, with the ability to assess and interpret patient data based on age-specific needs.
