About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) – Circulator for an exciting opportunity in Sitka, AK. This is a permanent, full-time position with a day shift schedule that includes on-call coverage. The role involves performing preoperative and intraoperative patient assessments, developing and implementing nursing care plans, administering medications, monitoring patient status, coordinating surgical workflow, ensuring equipment readiness, completing safety checklists, advocating for patients, documenting events in the EHR, collaborating with surgical teams, and maintaining infection prevention standards. The position also requires participation in quality improvement and continuing education activities.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
  • Current Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • BLS certification (AHA) required
  • ACLS certification (AHA) required
  • PALS certification (AHA) required
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
  • Strong clinical judgment and perioperative nursing skills
  • Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical workflows
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with electronic health record documentation
  • Ability to work effectively in high-acuity surgical environments

Nice To Haves

  • Operating Room nursing experience preferred
  • Experience in perioperative or surgical services environments preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform preoperative and intraoperative patient assessments
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and hospital policy
  • Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to changes in condition
  • Coordinate surgical workflow outside the sterile field
  • Ensure surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies are prepared for procedures
  • Complete surgical safety checklists and “time out” procedures
  • Serve as a patient advocate throughout the surgical process
  • Document intraoperative events accurately within the electronic health record
  • Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesia providers, and support staff
  • Maintain infection prevention and surgical safety standards
  • Participate in quality improvement and continuing education activities
