About The Position

Job Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process in providing nursing care to patients in all settings in collaboration with other health care providers. The RN is accountable for his/her own professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law. Utilizing organizational resources, the RN acts as a patient advocate for the delivery of safe care including delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement activities. The delivery of nursing care within Kettering Health reflects the missions, vision, values, and philosophies of the organization and nursing departments. The Registered Nurse reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager or through the Clinical Director through the Manager. The Oncology Clinical Coordinator provides quality nursing care to patients experiencing hematological/oncological treatments and disease management including knowledge and skills to provide cancer care treatments safely and effectively. Possesses and develops understanding of the oncologic process and oncologic emergencies. Knowledgeable to instruct patients and their support persons about disease, symptom management and treatment as well as advocate for their needs.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse
  • Successful completion of a Chemotherapy/Biotherapy administration course if working in an infusion center by the end of orientation or prior to hire.
  • BLS certification
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (NLN or CCNE) if they are a new graduate nurse. New graduates from non-accredited programs may be considered if they had a clinical rotation at a KH hospital.
  • At least 3 years of oncology nursing experience required with preference given to RNs with oncology experience.

  • OCN certification preferred
  • BSN preferred
