About The Position

The ideal candidate will be looking for a fast-paced environment and will be detail-oriented. This role involves providing direct patient care in an oncology infusion setting, including performing various procedures and administering treatments. The position also requires effective communication and collaboration with internal and external departments to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The candidate must be willing to work with patients of all ages and cross-train in radiation therapy nursing.

Requirements

• Current RN license valid to practice in the state of Iowa
• Must have or be willing to complete INR and chemo certification class after hire
• Must cross train in radiation therapy if needed

Nice To Haves

• Chemotherapy experience is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Blood draws, both peripheral and from ports
• Port flushes and starting IV's
• Infusions on patients of all ages including but not limited to antibiotics, hazardous drugs, and immunotherapy
• Inputting orders from oncology clinics
• Willing to work with patients of all ages ranging from infants to adults
• Willing to cross train in radiation therapy nursing
• Effective communication within department and with supporting departments to ensure the best patient care is being given
