About The Position
This position combines Obstetrics and Medical-Surgical nursing responsibilities. The RN will primarily provide care to obstetric patients but must be willing and able to float to the Med-Surg unit when there are no obstetric patients.

- Med-Surg experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently in a rural critical access hospital environment
Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and care for laboring mothers and newborns
- Assist with labor and delivery procedures
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being
- Provide postpartum care and patient education
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments
- Respond to obstetrical emergencies and changes in patient condition
- Document patient care accurately in Epic EMR
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult medical-surgical patients
- Perform patient assessments and develop care plans
- Administer medications and treatments
- Monitor patient conditions and report changes promptly
- Coordinate discharge planning and patient education
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members
